The project has been going on for more than a year and a half at the request of members of the City Council. There have been more than a dozen meetings between City planning staff and four so-called stakeholder groups [representing developers, residents of the mixed use residential zones, the West Berkeley PAC a City commission, and WEBAIC, a group representing small industrial companies and artisans in West Berkeley] .
A Draft Environmental Impact Report [DEIR] has been prepared and is available in pdf form online at this link. The time for public comment on the DEIR is now closed.
